Encouraging everyone to ‘give it a go’ this Healthy Eating week

Healthy Eating Week is 10-14th June 2024 – The aim of healthy Eating week is to highlight and celebrate health diet and lifestyle.

The theme is Encouraging everyone to ‘give it a go’ this Health Eating week.

  • Get at Least 5 a day
  • Stay hydrated
  • Move more
  • Focus on fibre
  • Reduce food waste

There are some great posters you can download (pdf) to help you bring Healthy Eating Week to life in your workplace. Additional resources can be found on the British Nutrition Foundation website.

In the BNF planning guide (pdf) for healthy eating it gives advice on activities and resources that you can use to engage your workplace.

  • Day 1  – Get at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day. These can include frozen, dried canned and fresh versions of fruit and vegetables.
  • Day 2 – Stay Hydrated. Have about 6-8 drinks a day and choose reusable or recyclable drinks containers. Teas and coffees count towards hydration but try not to add sugar or syrups.
  • Day 3 – Move More. Be more active every day.
  • Day 4 – Focus on Fibre. Have more wholegrain foods, fruit and vegetables, beans, peas, and pulses.
  • Day 5 – Reduce Food waste. Aim for the right amount when you shop, cook, and eat to avoid throwing food away.
